Batangas Food Trip – Lomi atbp

When looking for an excuse to ride south of Metro Manila, searching for the best Lomi dishes Batangas has to offer is a damn good one.

For those that are unaware, Lomi is a noodle dish that was created in 1968 by a restauranteur in Batangas, and is typically served with pork liver, eggs, kikiam, and chicharon (if you upgrade to some special version) . I have been trying to compile a list of my favorite Lomi spots and will try to keep this updated as I find more.

1. Pinky’s Lomi, Tanauan, Batangas

Address: Mabini Ave, Barangay 6, Tanauan, 4232 Batangas

Budget for one: around P65 to P150

Operation hours: 6:30AM to 7PM

Must-try: Lomi Special

Contact Details:

Phone number: 09178597053

Facebook: Pinky’s Lomi House - Lipa

I chance upon Pinky’s Lomi in a recent trip to Tagaytay while taking the Talisay twisties route, and has to be my favorite of the Lomi spots I have visited, thus far.

My typical gripe with these dishes that a lot of restaurants serve lomi too bland for my taste, and this was not the case in Pinky’s. It was good to eat something that I did not need to smother with Soy Sauce and I really enjoyed the flavors in their version of Special lomi (65 PHP). They apparently have 2 other branches, one in Lipa and another in Malvar, but I have yet to visit those branches.

Address: Pinagtung-ulan 4227 San Jose, Batangas

Budget for one: PHP 40 – PHP 150

Operation hours: 630AM to 730PM

Must-try: Lomi, Miki, Sisig

Contact Details:

Phone number: +63 939 884 0140

Facebook: Corcolon Lomi House, Pinagtung-Ulan, San Jose, Batangas

Of all the Lomi places on this list, Corcolon hands down is the winner when it comes to biggest servings, and the most generous of toppings. It is also one of the furthest you have to ride to from Manila of those on this list, and is a good option if you are looking for a somewhat longer ride.

BONUS TIP: San Jose also has some of the best Crispy Pata around the area, and Comedor House of Crispy Pata is worth the travel

3. Jorjhane’s House of Lomi and Bulalo

Address: Balagtas Rd., Batangas City

Budget for one: P100 – PHP 150

Operation hours: 6:30AM to 7PM

Must-try: Lomi, Bulalo, Gotong Batangas

Contact Details:

Phone number: (043) 706 3369

Facebook: Jorjhane's House of Lomi and Bulalo 2018

If you are looking for a fairly straight ride and wanna spend most of your time on the highway, then this might just be the spot for you. In order to reach Jorjhane’s, you simply ride out till the final exit of STAR Tollways in Batangas, and the restaurant is fairly close to the toll gates. They specialize in Lomi, Gotong Batangas, and Bulalo.

4. Ednas Lomi House, Ibaan, Batangas

Address: San Jose – Ibaan – Batangas Rd, Ibaan, Batangas

Budget for one: PHP 30 to PHP 100

Must-try: Lomi, Pancit Miki

Contact Details:

Phone number: 0915 707 9970

Facebook: Ednas'LOMI HOUSE

Edna’s is a gem on the side of the road a little past the Ibaan toll exit in Batangas. This hole in a wall is a good potential stop if you fancy a trip on the way to the Batangas racing circuit, which is about 20 kms away from this location. It is a favorite destination of Vincy, one of my riding buddies, and a place that he swears by as the best Lomi for him.

5. Park View Lomi House

Location: J. Pastor St., Ibaan

Budget for one: PHP 100

Operation hours: 7AM to 5PM

Must-try: Lomi

Contact Details:

Facebook: Parkview

I have yet to visit this location, but scouring the internet shows that this is a place that is highly recommended around Ibaan and I am putting a placeholder here for a place I have to visit when craving some authentic Lomi. Stay tuned for a review once I get to experience it for myself.
